I wish you all a safe and fun filled summer! ++If your child loves being creative, here are some ideas for summer art makin' fun!++ Please note these are websites and books I have researched that I would choose for my own kids. I have not reviewed them all fully, so I can't speak to their quality but they sure look fun!! Parents, please make sure to review yourself prior to purchase or use. I have included an age range for most, but be sure to read descriptions to confirm age appropriateness for your child.
D Books: Lab Books Series This series contains 24 books including art, science, math, and STEAM. I think these are geared more towards K-5, but there some that will work for younger or older. For example, one is called Art Lab for Little Kids and I am going to get the STEAM lab for my 12 year old. Online: I believe these are all free. Free 3 day online art camp from Art History Kids from May 26-May 28 so sign up now! Khan Academy has two free STEAM programs that look awesome. Please review descriptions on the website to determine if it is right for your child. I would guess 5-8 grade. My 12 year old is doing both! Pixar in a Box Imagineering in a Box Little Red window has collected a list of fun, free, safe websites for art lessons online. Go here. (ages 5-10) Made by Joel- a dad and artist has printables and projects. (ages 5-10) The Kitchen Table Classroom has plenty of great lessons herself, but here is a link to her list of additional sites. (ages 5-12) Red Ted Art (ages vary by lesson) Art Hub for Kids (ages vary) Muffalo Potato (ages vary) Make on Facebook (ages vary by lesson) Subscription Box: There are so many options out there! Most give options to purchase as few as one month or up to a year. Some are strictly art focused, others include a book, STEAM, crafts, cooking and more.
